Another "plein air" late afternoon painting in Crested Butte, Colorado. The subtle colors in this painting are not truly expressed in the photo of it, unfortunately. I am keeping this one for my own collection and the memories it holds for me.
Another painting from Crested Butte, colorado, but this time I painted from
the gardens in the small town. It was the height of poppy season, and I was
able to shoot lots of photos that will keep me busy this winter.
This painting was the same beautiful garden in Crested Butte, Colorado that
I painted earlier. I love the pine trees behind the flowers, and the slighly
"wild" feeling I captured that reflects the mountain air.
I painted this scene "plein air" (outside) at the Denver Botanic Gardens in
May of this year. What a beautiful day it was. I painted a few paintings
that day and came home exhausted and happy.
This study is one of four I painted from photo reference. The garden in the photo was one of my favorite gardens of all time; very lush, with lots blooming. I have already started painting larger work from these small studies.
This amazing bouquet was at my local grogery store on a winter's day in February. This painting shows only half the flowers that I brought home! I used the others for students to paint from and to decorate around the house.
